The planet is in crisis. As humans we find ourselves in the unique position
today that our actions form a direct threat to life on earth. The "child
of the world" calls out to everyone to revive the child inside, as this
is the most direct way to change our attitude from being arrogant to questioning,
from being exploitative to humble, from being competitive to collaborative.
The child brings out the universal in all of us. It calls us to creativity.
We can only proceed to effectively change if we all reconnect and ply our
part. Originally composed for a benefit concert in Kansas City to help suffering
children, the song goes further: children suffer because we have trampled
our own inner roots. And this child is not a mythical figure: it is everyone's
voice from within.
