Go South was composed in response to a request by a parent of a young cellist in Pretoria. He was due to perform in a competition. The idea was to write a cello piece for a youngster in an African music style. Well, i did my best as they say, and apparently it was very well received. Alas, this young cellist now lives somewhere on the cold plains of Canada.. (The recording above is still the oriiginal midi composition and not too pleasant to listen to!)
