Strings Passion for Quartet is a transcription of an original improvisation I did in 2000 - one of my first computer-based recordings. I chose a string sound on a Roland XP10 that i particularly liked for its rich texture. The resultant piece reflects the intense emotional state I was in at the time.
It was first played by live quartet in 2007 during a school district concert. The players were staff members of the Niskayuna High School, upstate New York (watch video). The audio recording is from a live performance in Durban, South Africa, 2010.
